The way students assimilate information in recent days is gaining particular importance with the aid of information and communication technologies (ICTs). Today, ICTs are present in the school environment and require education professionals to readjust teaching methods. In view of this problem, the present article introduces the flipped classroom method, which makes it possible to reduce the students’ distancing compared to traditional teaching by reversing the roles of students and teachers and by making the students active protagonists of their learning. Combined with such a method, ICTs are at work and their use should be mediated by the library, which plays a key role in assisting/enabling users to identify sources of reliable information, properly use information available through the Internet, and retrieve research-related data. As a result of the process, the library fulfills its role as it develops actions that enable users to obtain the necessary skills not only to learn how to conduct academic research, but also as it enables them to find and retrieve information that will be helpful throughout their professional life.
