Abstract

This article aims to present a brief report on the Diversus experience, an event sponsored by the Library of Senac – São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo, in March 2017. From this experience, the article also proposes a reflection on the potentialities of events such as Diversus in making libraries living spaces of reflection and appreciation of differences. The intended reflection developed from the theoreticalmethodological reference of Paulo Freire’s popular education and the bibliographical review of studies that highlight libraries as spaces of education and democratization of information. The analysis proposed in this work enabled to understand how Diversus, through critical debate, dialogue and integration of subjects, contributes to the process of building libraries as living spaces for learning, integration and appreciation of differences.
